As a Human Resources Expert at North Western Property Maintenance, you will be responsible for a range of HR activities related to hiring, onboarding, payroll, legal compliance and maintaining a positive and compliant work environment. Your main tasks will include:
- Recruitment and Hiring:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for various positions within landscape construction and maintenance.
- Conduct thorough interviews and assessments to identify candidates with the required skills and qualifications.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand position requirements and create job descriptions.
- Employee Relations:
- Address employee concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and mediate employee disputes.
- Maintain a positive work environment through proactive employee engagement initiatives.
- Onboarding and Training:
- Design and execute a comprehensive onboarding process for new hires.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of existing employees.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Administer employee benefits programs and answer related inquiries.
- Legal Compliance:
- Possess extensive knowledge of the Employment Standards Act in British Columbia.
- Draft and review employment contracts and legal documents to safeguard the company from potential legal issues.
- Termination Process:
- Handle terminations professionally and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in HR roles, preferably in a service industry.
- Thorough understanding of the Employment Standards Act in British Columbia.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, HR best practices, and employment law.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create and review legal documents such as employment contracts.
Expected salary
$65000 – 85000 per year
