Position Description:

Reporting to the Human Resources Leader, the HR Generalist will be responsible to multi-task and manage Human Resource responsibilities in a multi-provincial environment ensuring an extreme level of integrity and confidentiality.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate positive interaction between employees, and management through fair and consistent application of policies, practices and procedures.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of policies and procedures related to human resources, health and safety and corporate programs while supporting leaders to roll out new company policies and initiatives in a positive, proactive way ensuring effective communication at all levels.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and practices including policy compliance with changes in legislation or corporate policies.
  • Support employee relation initiatives which include organizing company engagement events, employee recognition & service awards, holiday celebrations, community outreach initiatives, wellness initiatives.
  • Administers disability management program supporting completion of all disability related paperwork and creation and maintenance of newly developed processes to ensure successful return to work program.
  • Ensure current knowledge of funding offered for related grants/government programs (i.e. new hires incentives, summer student funding initiatives, etc.) and submit applications when applicable.
  • Accurately input and maintain electronic employee information in multiple software systems
  • Assist in coordinating training activities and track and report KPIs as assigned
  • Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance to all provincial Employment Standards Acts, Company Employee Handbook and Collective Agreements
  • Back-up for Human Resources Development Leader as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
  • Three years of experience in Human Resources
  • CHRP/CHRL Designation is an asset
  • Organized and able to effectively prioritize workload.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven computer skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to process all responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
