Job Description
This role is Istanbul based.
What You’ll Be Doing
Human Rights Assistant in this role will work collaboratively with team members in-country and at Head Office to ensure efficient day to day operation of the Human Rights team, assisting the Human Rights Partners in managing our day-to-day ethical trade programme.
Main Responsibilities
Audit Programme:
- Support in reviewing audit reports
- Sending risk rating emails
- Sending emails for improvement follow up (asking for update)
- Support in reviewing 3rd party audit reports.
- Support in scheduling and organising audits. Ensure third party auditors receive needed information before audits.
- Fill in finance audit tracker and send deduction notes
- Assist with communication with Supplier/factory.
- Support in follow up invoice/payment for 3rd party audit companies/freelance auditors
Data management and reporting
- Uploading audit reports on the Lighthouse (LH)
- Uploading improvement evidences and updated audit reports on the LH.
- Keep LH up to date (address changes, linking shared units, etc)
- Action on exits and set ups on LH when they are confirmed.
- Updating factory tracker
- Generate reports for the regional team and the head office – Supplier base Risk Rating reports, Board Report, any other needed reports
- Create presentations and updates for the in-country and Ethical Team, and the head office.
Strategy Work:
- Support delivery of projects and initiatives related to Human Rights across our factory base.
- Develop knowledge on Human Rights
· Other administrative requests as required
Qualifications
Who We’d Like to Meet
· Interest in labour rights, human rights/ ethical trade
· Previous experience in an ethical trade role, work experience within a fashion retailer in buying or merchandising, experience in a sustainability consultancy or NGO
· Understanding of the ETI Base Code
· Outstanding written and oral communication skills
· Research skills and the ability to collate data and information for accurate reporting
· Thorough and reliable with great attention to detail
· Ability to use Microsoft office packages effectively, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Works collaboratively and effectively with others
· Can travel for work
· Copes well with new situations
