Let’s make it happen together!ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThis is an exciting time as we are expanding our hydrogeology team. We have several roles from Hydrogeologist to Principal Hydrogeologist grades for the right candidate. We are looking for talented, bright and dynamic Hydrogeologists; people who love a technical challenge to drive our groundwater strategies forward. We are looking for individuals with a sound practical understanding of hydrogeology, ideally with a water resources management or regulatory background and who are great at communicating and influencing others with those brilliant ideas and understand how to think big.Our hydrogeology team is at the forefront of shaping the future of groundwater for Severn Trent; delivering expert advice and leading projects to achieve our ambitious goals. As part of the team, you will develop strategies for the Water Resources Management Plan and Price Review.As a Hydrogeologist at Severn Trent, you will play a vital role in protecting and enhancing groundwater quality to secure public water supply, driving investigations, leading projects, improving data systems and communicating with stakeholders both inside and outside of the company. Your work will include researching emerging contaminants, planning and promoting our borehole capital maintenance programme, and we work flexibly to support operational teams to safeguard water quality and availability. This is your chance to tackle big challenges, innovate, and make a lasting impact on water resources and the communities we serve.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOROne third of the Severn Trent Water supply system is obtained from about more than 200 groundwater sources. Our Hydrogeology Team use their technical skills providing expert advice to lead projects and programmes of work to support the Severn Trent goals. You will work with our stakeholders to protect and enhance the quality of our groundwater, interrogate and make improvements to our data systems, and undertake investigations so that we have the best evidence available from which we can make good decisions.At Severn Trent, we value character, positivity, and a genuine passion for making a difference. We’re seeking qualified Hydrogeologists with an MSc in Hydrogeology (or a related field) who will bring their knowledge and enthusiasm, with experience in the following areas:
- Groundwater and water resource evaluation processes and techniques
- Contaminant investigations, remedial options, treatment processes
- Legislation influencing water resources and groundwater
- Drinking water quality, including regulation
- Asset management of groundwater assets
- A track record of collaborative working with partner organisations and stakeholders
- An understanding of the water industry, the regulatory price review and the Water Resources Management Planning processes.

- Starting salaries for each role are as follows: Hydrogeologist £41,000, Senior Hydrogeologist £49,000, Principal Hydrogeologist £56,000
