An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our small friendly team at The Yeatman Hospital, based in Sherborne.You will work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team acting as a source of clinical expertise on the management of the ICRT patients’ conditions with multiple pathologies and complex needs.The Occupational Therapist role is currently a full-time position. We would also welcome part time applicants with a minimum of 30 hours. We can be flexible around shift patterns to support a family friendly working pattern and would be happy to support compressed hours or part time hours spread over the weekdays.Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.Main duties of the jobTo provide specialist clinical advice, leadership and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis, and advanced decision-making skills.Responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred services with a focus on cluster based, integrated care which always considers peoples safety, privacy and dignity.To provide clinical guidance and advice to other members of the Multi-disciplinary Team through participation in screening of referrals, team meetings, joint treatments, teaching and case conferences.To ensure delivery of up-to-date evidence-based practice.To support the Team Leader to continually enhance service quality and contribute towards service development.Job planning guidance for this role equates to 70%-80% direct patient care, including specialist clinical support to other members within the cluster teams and 20%-30% supporting professional activity.You will be required to work with the rest of the team to support 7 day working on a rota basis.Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.   • Membership of the relevant Professional body and HCPC.
  • Post registration diploma level specialist training and/or short courses or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty

  • Proven experience at Registered Practitioner Band 6 or Band 7 level
  • Evidence of risk management skills and experience.
  • Evidence of education and training in practice
  • Able to demonstrate a vast experience of making clinical judgement regarding diagnosis and highly specialised advice and intervention

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCEEssential

  • Previous clinical people management experience
  • Able to act as a clinical supervisor and/or facilitate peer groups
