Imaging Informatics Coordinator, IMIT Imaging SolutionsProvincial Health Services Authority (PHSA)Vancouver, BCThe Imaging Informatics Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of system management pertaining to Imaging Informatics Systems utilized within Medical Imaging departments. Works with vendors to ensure service levels meet corporate standards; tests and evaluates software in order to recommend products that will meet current and future needs. Provides user support and consultation as well as other user liaison services. Develops “Best Practice” methods, standards and procedures for utilization of Imaging Informatics systems. Provides input into the development of policies and procedures regarding configuration and utilization of Imaging Informatics systems.What you’ll do

  • Acts as a champion and departmental focal point for issues relating to Imaging Informatics and works collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary system support team develops communication linkages between the technical applications, enterprise system users and system support groups to facilitate and enhance the exchange of information, and advocates on behalf of Medical Imaging for the development/implementation of appropriate imaging informatics solutions.
  • Determines or participates in the determination of clinical business needs and technology requirements by using methods such as interviewing department management and staff, participating in planning committees, procedure development, workflow analysis, and development of clinical documentation.
  • Works collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to manage and resolve complex issues.
  • Provides technical, application and data analysis with respect to Imaging Informatics Systems utilization, oversees and supports ongoing system issues within Imaging Solutions and Medical Imaging departments.
  • Responds to administrative and utilization problems related to Imaging Informatics on site and/or for remote users, and takes corrective action in accordance with established procedures. Ensures errors/deficiencies are corrected as required by responding to the user complaint or Service Desk incident, analyzing/troubleshooting the problem, taking corrective action and testing to ensure the system operates at optimum efficiency, managing client expectations and providing the required documentation.

What you bringQualifications

  • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent Medical Radiation Technologist experience in a healthcare environment, including experience using related computer technology, implementing/supporting integrated clinical system environments, clinical change management and/or project leadership and peer mentorship or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license as local area travel may require the use of a vehicle.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the applicable MI standards of practice and guidelines for MI clinical practitioners.
  • Knowledge of organizational MI clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Broad knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modality-specific workflow, radiologist reporting methodologies and image distribution requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy and procedure development and/or clinical documentation standards, business process analysis and reengineering techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding new trends in MI clinical practice and information systems.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
