We believe that our differences make us stronger.About the team:Our UK Inbound team is a diverse team with experienced Senior Associates, Associates, Senior Immigration Consultants and Paralegals. Using their entrepreneurial spirit the team is constantly thinking of new ways to provide industry-leading immigration support.About the role:
The Immigration Paralegal will assist in the day-to-day functions of the UK Inbound team including all aspects of casework and assisting in the preparation of applications. They will benefit from the direct supervision and guidance of a Manager and Senior Associate and will work closely with a Senior Immigration Consultant also as a mentor. The Immigration Paralegal will assist in the preparation for and attendance of external meetings, marketing events and project work. There is also a unique opportunity to become involved in sector-group support initiatives (particularly Hospitality and Space), business development and strategy projects, research and sponsorship and compliance advice. The Immigration Paralegal will also be able to work on private client matters and social security applications.Other key responsibilities will include (experience of these will be beneficial):

  • Assisting in preparing and delivering client presentations, best practice sessions and training
  • Under direct supervision, acting as a caseworker on straightforward immigration applications
  • Supporting a Senior Associate and Senior Immigration Consultant with the progression of more complicated cases
  • Reviewing client queries and drafting responses for review by others in the team
  • Preparing documentation for applications under visa routes that include Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, Settlement, Appendix FM and others as directed
  • Reviewing case documents and conducting high-touch calls and BRP ACL cases with applicants
  • Updating the case management system, supporting in case billing and auditing, and general administrative support as required

About you:Ideally you will have previous experience within immigration or a client-facing legal role. A law degree is not required but a desire to develop your career within a corporate environment is essential. The ideal candidate would be willing to volunteer for project work, such as preparing presentations, drafting articles, and helping on a social pillar.Also required:

  • Displays professionalism, quality service and a “can do” attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors
  • Is confident, engaged and articulate with an enthusiasm to learn
  • Is able to learn procedural and processing requirements for various visa types
  • Builds knowledge of Firm and client processes

  • Meets assigned deadlines and communicates case progress/status/issues to supervisors
  • Demonstrates flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team

  • Demonstrates professionalism and confidence in all communications with their team as well as accuracy and proficiency in written communications
  • Learns from both positive and negative experiences and adapts accordingly
