Support the Corporate Parenting Strategic Group to implement the Promise in Moray by leading on the Maintaining Relationships Improvement Project.

Co-ordinate the design and implementation of self-evaluation, quality assurance and associated improvement activity to ensure that care experienced young people are consistently supported to maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

Support strategic planning and continuous improvement of services for looked after and care experienced children and young people by ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with The Promise and other relevant local and national legislation, policies and procedures. Specific focus is on improving relationships for looked after and care experienced young people.

Co-ordinate and undertake key tasks and activities on an interagency basis in relation of Care Inspectorate joint inspections of children’s services and other Promise auditing related activity.

Contribute to the production, implementation and ongoing review of the Children’s Services Plan 2023-26 Our Promise to the Children of Moray.

Ensure that the strategic groups which make up the Children’s Services Partnership are kept abreast of Scottish Government policies, regulations and guidance in relation to Maintaining Relationships and examples of national best practice in this field are shared.

The Individual

Significant post qualifying practice in relevant profession.

Experience of working directly with children and young people in care or on the edge of care.

Experience of successfully delivering improvement projects /developing and implementing new ways of working.

Knowledge of practice in a variety of settings.

Experience of multiagency working which has successfully evidenced improved outcomes for children and young people.

Project and staff management experience.

Experience of leading improvement projects utilising a QI methodology approach.

Educated to Degree or equivalent level.

Relevant professional qualification: Social Work, Education/Teaching, Health, Community Learning and Development.

Strong Project Management skills.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Programmes e.g. Word and Excel and relevant national databases.

Clear thinker.

Able to work with a high level of autonomy.

Ability to make decisions quickly on the basis of relevant/key information and intelligence.

Ability to write high quality reports for a range of audiences e.g. young people, funders, strategic groups/committees etc.

Ability to plan, negotiate and influence change at operational and strategic levels and across agency boundaries.

Detailed, current understanding of The Promise.

Able to work to tight and prescribed deadlines.

Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.

Ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

Problem solving skills.

Able to quickly form professional and productive working relationships with professionals at all levels and care experienced young people of different ages and backgrounds.

Good communication skills.

Self-motivated, enthusiastic, a good sense of humour, positive and self-confident.

Willingness to work flexibly and when required outside office hours.

Closing date: 22 March 2024

Starting salary: £47,068

£24.97 per hour

36.25 hours per week

Temporary for 18 months
