The Individual Giving team works to raise awareness and funds to fulfill SOS Children’s Villages’ global mission: to provide family-like care and loving homes for children and young people without adequate parental care, to strengthen families to prevent separation and to support a successful transition into adulthood so young people have everything they need to become their strongest selves.Tasks/projectsAs the intern supporting this team, you will gain first-hand development experience at an international NGO and have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including but not limited to:
- Assisting in the creation and implementation of donor stewardship touchpoints.
- Providing regular administrative support in managing donor information in internal databases.
- Conducting data analysis projects to better inform our development strategy.
- Performing research projects on fundraising strategies.
- Committing to SOS Children’s Villages International’s Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy to maintain organization wide values and prioritize the protection of children in all circumstances (
))Skills and further informationStrong Excel, research, analytical and organizational skills are required. Strong writing skills are highly desired.
- This is an unpaid internship, though subsidized Metro benefits are available.
- This position is not eligible for company benefits.
- This is a hybrid position with remote and in-office weekly duties. Our office is located in downtown D.C. and is Metro and bus accessible. We are only seeking individuals in Washington, D.C. or surrounding areas.
- We offer a flexible schedule with a preferred maximum of 20 hours per week.
- Credit hours can be provided, if applicable.
- The internship will run from January – May 2025, with flexible start and end dates and the possibility of extension.
