We are looking for a motivated person to join the Infection Control team. This exciting post will interest staff who enjoy variety in their job with plenty of opportunities and will give the successful applicant the potential to develop whilst working with the support and guidance of senior colleagues.You must be keen to develop your communication, organisational and educational skills and knowledge in this role and, in return, we will offer support with training.   • Registered Nurse Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Infection Prevention & Control Course – qualification.

ExperienceEssential

  • Experience as a registered nurse in acute care environment.
  • Appropriate management and leadership experience at ward or departmental level.
  • Fundamental IT skills — Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Ability to plan, organise and coordinate.
  • To work under pressure with flexibility.
  • Be able to manage complex information and escalate accordingly.
  • Ability to prioritise patient’s need for care.
  • Excellent communication skills to all levels of staff, the public and patients.
  • Ability to safety use equipment and medical devices.
  • Friendly and supportive team player.
  • Evidence of continued professional Development.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of infection prevention & control at ward or departmental level.
  • Be part of the educate, present, and teach the multidisciplinary team.

  • Previous Infection prevention & control specialist experience.
  • Previous experience with surgical site surveillance
  • Cardio/thoracic experience
  • Tissue viability knowledge
  • Audit/surveillance experience
