We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator who has some knowledge of Systems and Network administration to work on the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS). The position is part of a team of experts who provide technical and troubleshooting support. You will be supporting a US Naval squadron and while the ship is in port you will be supporting the squadron in Iwakuni, and when the squadron deploys you will be required to deploy with the ship. After hiring in, you will start in Iwakuni, Japan, and then travel to California for approximately 8 months of training and familiarization with the US Navy.You will be responsible for providing the overall on-site ALIS maintenance and support and serves as the primary point of contact for any customer questions or concerns.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Backups, restores, and disaster recovery of the system
- Hardware/system monitoring and performance tuning
- System/software/user maintenance and Maintaining system documentation
- Analyzing and identifying issues with internal databases and applications
- Setting up administrator and service accounts
- Installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space
- Interacting daily with users and acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the ALIS product suite
- Maintaining smooth, secure operation of multi-user computer systems through coordination with other administrative disciplines (security, database, network, and offboard mission Support)
- Review processes/procedures, collect system operational data for analysis
This is an operational support role to a US Services customer so the selected candidate may be required to work at deployed CONUS/OCONUS locations, support rotating shifts, and work over 40 hours per week-which may include weekends-as dictated by mission requirements.This position is under the US/Japan Status of Forces Agreement and the employee will be required to follow the the rules and regulations established by US Forces Japan.Must have a valid US Passport.A level 4 employee Typically has 7 – 12 years of professional experience.What’s In It For You
