Is this role right for you?
As an ESG Associate, Institutional Management, you contribute to the overall success of the firm’s ESG strategy. Working in a team environment, you will collect, organize and analyze ESG data and content in support of Jarislowsky Fraser’s ESG strategy, services and solutions.
You will gain important experience in a hybrid role, working closely with highly skilled professionals in both Institutional Management and Research. We are looking for someone with a related area of study (finance, portfolio management, sustainability, or accounting). Successful candidates will have a demonstrated passion for sustainable investing.
In this role, you will:
- Perform carbon footprint reporting and net-zero analysis in support of JFL’s climate action plan
- Undertake diversity equity & Inclusion research on investee companies
- Analyze and summarize impact metrics for green, social and sustainability bonds.
- Organize and maintain ESG content library in support of external due diligence questionnaires, databases, and reporting needs.
- Contribute data analysis and written content for eternal reports including JFL’s stewardship report, climate disclosure report, and PRI Transparency report among others.
- Execute other ad-hoc projects in support of institutional client service and delivery including portfolio screening, preparation for client meetings, and proxy voting analysis/reporting.
- Understand how JFL’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with the firm’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Strong ability to clearly articulate and present ideas and finding in written form
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment while also able to work independently and show initiative by taking ownership of assigned projects
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
