The hospitals proudly partner with local academic institutions the University of Waterloo, Conestoga College, McMaster University and Wilfrid Laurier University, and our local innovation sector including Communitech, the Accelerator Centre, Medical Innovation Xchange, and others.We currently have an opportunity for Integrated Manager, IT Business Operations & Applications Support within Digital Services – Grand River & St. Mary’s General Hospitals.How Intregrated Manager, IT Business Operations & Applications Support provide support to our teams:The Integrated IT Business Operations and Applications Manager is responsible for the leadership and mentorship of a team of upwards of 20 IT clinical informatics, clinical applications analysts, and corporate applications analysts providing support to GRH and SMGH clinical, corporate, and administrative users at 10 sites throughout the region. This position works closely with the Digital Services portfolio and leaders as well as other IT leaders implement IT strategic plans, which align with the hospitals corporate strategic plans. Fiscal responsibilities include the collaborative management of the IT budget.The IT Business Operations manager holds in-depth project management skills, budgeting, and procurement skills, as well as clinical expertise and education, with an active registration, in good standing, with their governing college (i.e. CNO). They will utilize their information technology, project management, business, and clinical knowledge to ensure support, foster adoption, guide change management activities, and information technology procurement across the hospitals. The IT Business Operations Manager represents Digital Services and Information Technology internally, with peer organizations, vendors, external stakeholders, and clinical and corporate leadership. The influence of this role includes decisions affecting clinical and corporate systems selection, adoption, standardization, quality and safety, and fiscal/budgetary decisions and planning.The Integrated Manager, IT Business Operations & Applications Support brings the following:

  • Degree/diploma required in Clinical discipline (RN preferred)
  • Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, Healthcare Project Management or equivalent combination of education and experience (5+ years)
  • PMI Certified (PMP designation) with 5+ years’ experience in project management, preferably in a complex healthcare setting
  • Member, in good standing, with their clinical college
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience preferably in a hospital or other clinical setting.
  • Minimum 8 + years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on corporate and/or clinical applications.
  • 5+ years proven Project Management skills (PMP certification)
  • Experience leading and managing change while ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to build teams that foster trust and respect.
  • Effective presentation, analytical and report writing skills.
  • ITIL, LEAN or similar certifications or experience.
  • Completion of Leadership training.
  • Related experience in a hospital environment
  • Strong and proven leadership skills with IT and telecommunications teams.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills and be driven to improve customer experiences.
  • Ability to motivate, coach and improve individual performance.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communicative skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment
  • Well organized and self-motivated
  • Ability to adapt to change and prioritize accordingly in a fast-paced environment
