With approximately 6,000 employees, FMI is an aggressively growing best-in-class organization, with our Business Support Centre located in Woodstock, New Brunswick.Position SummaryWe are hiring an individual who lives by our corporate values of Heart, Integrity and Drive to fill the position of Intermediate Accountant. The Intermediate Accountant role is responsible for regular reporting of financial performance, ensuring accuracy of data and adherence to accounting principles, as well as performing reconciliations and preparing schedules to support all accounts. The role also involves communication with operational managers on a regular basis.Must haves:
- 2 years of accounting experience
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles / GAAP (ASPE)
- Post-secondary education in business / accounting; business degree preferred; will consider a combination of education + relevant experience
- You are detail-oriented & have strong organizational skills
- You enjoy a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Willing to relocate/travel to Woodstock, NB
Duties:
- Prepare and distribute profit & loss statements for restaurants
- Report sales to franchisor along with royalty and advertising schedules
- Prepare GL account reconciliations, including cash and bank accounts
- Review and posting of general ledger entries, and review of all GL accounts at each period end
- Ensure accounting controls/processes are followed
- Prepare Balanced Scorecard report and profit sharing results for store managers
- Prepare audit working papers for year-end
- Provide support to the operations staff with issue resolution when requested
