Our vision is a future where everyone, everywhere has the freedom and ability to lead healthy lives, make their own informed decisions about using contraception and having children, and participate as equals in society and its development.The FP2030 Support Network consists of five regional hubs: North, West and Central Africa; East and Southern Africa; Asia and the Pacific; and Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America and Europe, led by an Executive Director, supported by an Executive Directorate team, who reports to the Governing Board. Each Regional Hub is headed by a Managing Director supported by a small team and hosted by an NGO within the region. Together, these five business units comprise the FP2030 Support Network.This is a paid opportunity from January 27, 2025, through May 23, 2025, and offers an hourly compensation rate of $17.50 per hour for individuals currently enrolled in or recently graduated from (within 8 months of graduation) an associate degree or bachelor’s degree program; and $20 per hour for individuals currently enrolled in a graduate programEssential FunctionsThe HIPs intern will primarily support the HIPs team, with potential to support other portfolios based on interest and capacity.
- Develop HIPs Commitment Analyses for priority countries. This includes reviewing a country’s key strategic documents (FP2030 Commitment, Costed Implementation Plans for Family Planning, country-specific data from the most recent Demographic and Health Survey) to identify which HIPs are included and potential opportunities.
- Assist the HIPs team in coordinating key meetings, including monthly HIPs Co-Sponsors meetings, and biannual Technical Advisory Group meetings. This includes supporting note taking, scheduling, and logistics when needed.
- Assist in tracking the production of new HIPs products, working with the HIPs team to update the HIPs production tracker on a regular basis
- Gain exposure to the larger family planning and reproductive health community in Washington, DC and abroad.
- Other duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria
- Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
- Must have a personal laptop computer and access to the Internet.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
- Background in international development/global health preferred.
- Must be available to work a maximum of 24 hours per week.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- This position will report to the Director, High Impact Practices with support from the HIPs Project Manager.
