Date Posted: 2025-02-20Country: IrelandLocation: LOC9008: Collins Aerospace Ireland limited, 4th Floor, Penrose Business Center, Penrose Wharf, Cork – IrelandPosition Role Type: UnspecifiedAs a Thermal Systems Intern you are responsible for modeling, analyzing, and optimizing thermal systems for aerospace applications.Key Responsibilities:Conduct thermal analysis to evaluate heat transfer, temperature distribution, and overall system performance (e.g., heat exchangers, cooling channels).Develop and implement methods for effective heat management in aerospace components.Use simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, STAR CCM+, Matlab) to model heat transfer and fluid flow.Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis and model validationRequired Skills and Qualifications:Education: This role requires a college degree preferably MSc in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.Technical Skills:experience with thermal analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, STAR CCM+, MATLAB).understanding of heat transfer mechanisms (conduction, convection, radiation).Collaboration & Communication:Collaborate with other engineers to integrate your work into the overall system to achieve project objectivesPrepare reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings, updates, and recommendations to project teams.This role is within an international team with great talent who are passionate and knowledgeable about Thermo-Mechanical Systems.
