Find out more .About PRME Chapter UK and IrelandThe Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Chapter UK and Ireland is one of 16 Regional Chapters of the UN Global Compact’s PRME movement established in 2007. PRME’s mission is to raise the profile of sustainability in classrooms through focused on serving society and safeguarding our planet. PRME Chapter UK and Ireland offers localised engagement for higher education organisations, serving as a platform for dialogue, learning, and action on responsible management and leadership education and research.The Chapter seeks to nurture a mutually supportive community of committed responsible management educators and researchers by delivering a varied programme of activity that includes local activities related to sharing best practices in teaching and research, as well as implementation of the global and initiatives.About the role:We are seeking an Intern to support the work of the UN Global Compact Network UK Participant Engagement Team and PRME Chapter UK and Ireland programming.Although the two initiatives are strongly interconnected, they operate separately and therefore this role will report to two different people.This is a full-time internship of at least 6 months, with the possibility of extension and/or conversion into a permanent role.We offer the option of hybrid working but with a minimum of two days per week in the office.Please note that while this role is within the UN Global Compact Network UK Secretariat, the successful candidate will not be formally employed by the United Nations. You can find information about the UN Global Compact Network UK’s governance .During your internship:We’ll need you to get settled quickly. Through online training and meetings with relevant colleagues, we’ll help you to become familiar with our way of working and all the programming offered by the UN Global Compact Network UK, the PRME Chapter, and our colleagues at UN HQ.After your onboarding, you will be asked to engage in a range of tasks including:Responding effectively to emailed or telephoned inquiries from UK Network and Chapter participants.Carry out due diligence checks on organisations applying to join the UN Global Compact.Deliver admin support for a variety of PRME initiatives delivered by the UK and Ireland Chapter for business school signatories to PRME.Contribute to and coordinate the production of marketing and information materials, including social media and website updates. This will include: writing draft copy in response to briefs, chasing colleagues for their content contributions, assembling and formatting these contributions, proofreading, and providing relevant colleagues with drafts for review.Assisting with organising and delivering live events and webinars, including managing UN Global Compact Network UK Annual Summit registrations.Additional ad hoc tasks as required by the UK Network Head of Operations and Participant Engagement and the Chair of the PRME Chapter.We are looking for:Someone that is well organised, as you will be working on multiple projects concurrently.Someone with content creation experience across a range of platforms.Someone with impeccable business writing skills and attention to detail.Someone that has a “customer service orientation” and is able to anticipate the needs of colleagues and external stakeholders.Familiarity with planning and delivering virtual and in-person events would be a bonus.This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a career in corporate responsibility and/or sustainable development.Before applying for this role, please note the following:We utilise plagiarism software that can also detect the use of AI.
