Key Duties:

Identify and track new business opportunities with a range of donor agencies including FCDO and selected multilateral and bilateral donors, also managing key collaborator relationships and networks. * Support a broad range of tender preparation activities, including: market research, proposal management, coordination of tender teams, preparing tender agreements, and reviewing, editing and formatting tender documents.

  • Convey Buro Happold technical capabilities across priority sectors (including Urban development, Biodiversity, Climate change, Energy Transition) to partners and clients.
  • Provide support to programme delivery, providing oversight and coordination in support of the Project Director/Manager on designated projects.
  • Support Project Managers in achieving a high level of client satisfaction with programme outcomes, as well as Contract Management including accurate project forecasting and budgeting, Cost tracking and management, client invoicing and reporting.
  • Act as a point of coordination between Buro Happold and our wider network of collaborators and innovation partners, supporting internal liaison within our international development community and our international offices.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of urban and regional development challenges and experience of working with stakeholders to develop multi-sector diagnostic assessments, strategies, plans and proposals in an integrated manner
  • Experience of working within a consultancy or international development environment
  • Understanding of donor programme design and procurement, and administrative ability to contribute to Donor Funded bid proposals, as well as knowledge of tendering requirements, compliance and guidelines for consulting services including FCDO, World Bank or other Multilateral Development Bank.
  • Previous business development or programmatic work with international donors, philanthropic funding agencies, bilateral development agencies and/or organisations of the United Nations.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience with programme Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) would be a bonus
  • Degree in relevant field including geography, planning, environmental sciences, economic development, public policy, international development.
