IT Change and configuration ManagerHammersmith with Hybrid workingAbout the role and the Team:We are seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to lead our configuration management efforts. The Configuration Manager will be responsible for overseeing the configuration management database ServiceNow (CMDB) and ensuring the accurate documentation of all IT assets and configurations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in configuration management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements in a dynamic environmentWhat will you be doing?Configuration Management Leadership:

  • Lead and oversee all configuration management activities, including the maintenance and updating of the CMDB to accurately reflect the current state of IT assets and configurations.
  • Develop and implement robust configuration management processes and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organisation.

Change Management Integration:

  • Collaborate with the Change Management team to integrate configuration management practices into the change management process.
  • Ensure that changes to IT assets and configurations are properly documented and managed within the CMDB.

Incident and Problem Management Support:

  • Provide support to Incident and Problem Management processes by supplying accurate and timely configuration information to assist in the resolution of incidents and problems.
  • Analyse configuration data to identify trends and patterns that may indicate underlying issues or areas for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in configuration management processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular audits of the CMDB to verify data accuracy and integrity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and business units, to gather requirements and ensure alignment of configuration management practices with business needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on configuration management best practices and tools.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL Intermediate/Expert, Configuration Management Certification) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in configuration management or a related field, with a strong understanding of configuration management principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Helix, or similar), including configuration, administration, and reporting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
