BII is recruiting an IT project Manager to join the team to strengthen the IT delivery capacity, support implementation of IT changes through the delivery life cycle and ensure implementation of quality solutions.About the roleThe IT Project Manager would be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role involves acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The IT Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, ensuring alignment with the BII’s strategic goals.The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop Project Initiation Documents, functional & non-functional requirements document, project plans, budget and other associated documents through the delivery cycle like RAID, project update reports and project closure report.
  • Support IT delivery demand management process from business requests through prioritization to project inception.
  • Support System testing and UAT activities to ensure quality delivery.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Support facilitation of project delivery and design workshops to elicit project requirements and document delivery approach and plan.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

About youBackground, skills, aptitude

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Project Management certifications (Agile/Scrum Master, PMP, Prince 2) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the IT field, preferably within the financial services sector (Private Equity / Investment Management / Investment Banking) or NGO organisation.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools (Microsoft Office Suites, Jira, Confluence etc), methodologies (Water fall and Agile), and best practices.
  • Experience in delivering Software, Security and infrastructure projects.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Being able to communicate effectively with non-technical people is essential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks is crucial.
