About this position:
Operations Solutions Program from the Information and Technology Department is looking for a User Experience consultant. The Operations Solutions Program consists of various investments on new and updated functionalities related to Operations (Bank’s products). Right now, we are facing the implementation of new products related to Operations (main core business of the Bank) and require a user – experience (UX) consultant who must be able to understand our business challenges and the technical background, as well as be responsible for ensuring usability of what the team builds, and more generally, how users and customers experience the value provided by the product.
It is expected that the UX Consultant will be conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, using agile methodology, working in close collaboration with the assigned agile team. Other UX activities related to convergence may be assigned as well.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with Product Manager/Owner and users to understand their needs and be able to translate those to designs/prototypes, making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features, working in permanent discovery mode to obtain the right solution.
- Work closely with Engineers and Developers to turn user data into actionable product or service requirements that feed into prototype development, and influence product direction.
- With a user-centered approach, measure results according to the success of the product, outcomes and value delivered to users and customers.
- Take a holistic user experience design approach, from the first learn of users about the product, the iterative interactions with it, motivations, and even perceived responsiveness of the product.
- Constant testing the value assessment of the ideas with users and customers in collaboration with the team, through interaction and visual design.
- Build strong relationships with testing partners to ensure they are advocates for the product at launch and collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
What you’ll need:
- Education: Master’s degree in graphic design, Web Design, User Centered Design, User Experience, or related area
- Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in the User Experience and Design field
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements:
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration:
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
- Length of contract: 19 months.
- Work Location: On site.
