RS Breakers & Controls is an Original Equipment Supplier that provides excellent customer service and customized solutions. Our 35,000-square-foot warehouse stocks over 100,000 products, including MCC wrapper/buckets, panel switches, circuit breakers, bus plugs, distribution panel boards, and so much more. We stock products of all amperages and voltages to serve residential, commercial, and industrial needs.

The Position

The Junior Accountant role is an integral part of the company, in this role you will assist the current Controller in the day to day Accounting functions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years working experience as an accountant and above average working knowledge in the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, as well as an Accounting accreditation or in the process of completion

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Controller to complete general accounting task
  • Complete administration task and data entry to organize and maintain ERP system
  • Oversee preparation of financial records related to general ledger, budget, expense, etc.
  • Work closely with the Controller to complete general accounting task such a reporting and monthly/quarterly tac submissions
  • Management of accounts receivable procedures, customer invoices, scheduled recurring invoices, invoices related to agreements, etc.
  • Management of all payment and acceptance methods: Cheques, e-transfers, direct deposits, etc.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports: Actuals against budget with initial variance and year end projection analysis including balance sheets and cash flow.

Qualifications:

  • CA, CMA or CGA accreditation or in progress
  • 3 – 5 years’ work experience as an accountant.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions).
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures.
  • Time-management and organization skills.
  • High energy, friendly and collaborative
  • A sharp and strategical thinker who can think outside of the box and is an enthusiastic problem solver while confronting compounded difficulties.
  • The incumbent will have a passion for their role and the company, and a commitment to expanding business needs.
  • Having working experience in a small business is an asset.
  • Works well in fast paced environment, thrives in small teams.
