What You’ll Be Doing:The Junior Business Analyst is an entry level position for a recent undergraduate student who is seeking a challenging, stimulating and rewarding opportunity with Stifel Canada. Reporting to the COO of Stifel Canada, the selected individual will assist in a number of tasks including the creation and maintenance of adhoc reports to drive operational efficiency, support the firm’s strategic initiatives, and achieve cost savings. As the individual’s career progresses, additional and increased responsibilities will become available including opportunities to move laterally within the firm.Stifel has a strong position in the Canadian market, has an international reach and is continuing to grow by adding top talent. The role offers candidates an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on work experience that is focused on the financial markets. In Canada, we are primarily organized into industry teams focused on specific sectors. These include: Technology, Consumer, Diversified Industries, Life Sciences and Metals & Mining.Note – This position is based at our Toronto office and requires in-person attendance. What We’re Looking For:The Junior Business Analyst will support the COO with the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Prepare and use financial models for the purposes of analyzing the business;
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of adhoc reports as needed by the business;
- Perform analysis on operational processes and procedures;
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly materials for the Executive Committee of Stifel Canada;
- Contribute to Stifel Canada’s management of internal business management systems, including integration and ongoing development;
- Assist with the management of external vendors;
- Perform research and analysis;
- Additional task as directed.

Education & Experience:
- Minimum Required: Recent completion of an undergraduate degree. A focus on business or finance will be viewed favorably.
- Prior work experience in an analyst type role (including internships) in investment banking, accounting or private equity is beneficial with a track record of taking initiative and passion for both the customer and employee experience.
Systems & Technology:
- Superior proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
