Junior Finance ManagerLocation:PeterboroughDepartment:FinanceSalary Details:Not SpecifiedAdvertising End Date:11 Aug 2024Job DescriptionPlease note this role is advertised on a 14 Month FTC.Your role:We are seeking a Junior Finance Manager to join our News Broadcasting Finance Team in Peterborough, reporting directly to the Head of Finance for Broadcasting. As a member of this team, your primary responsibilities will revolve around management accounting and business partnering for three business units within News Broadcasting. This role specifically focuses on the Talk brand, Piers Morgan Uncensored and News Studios which is an internal business producing TV and video for The Sun, The Times and talkSPORT.Our Finance Team: Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.Day to day you will:
- Weekly P&L reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Monthly calculation and management of accruals and prepaymentsTimely preparation of Management Accounts, including trend analysis and performance reportingConducting monthly meetings with key stakeholdersEffective balance sheet management, including reconciliations and bad debt monitoringHeadcount reporting for informed decision-makingBudget and long-range plan (LRP) preparation and submission for three business unitsRegular forecasting, including weekly rolling updatesActive involvement in improving reporting processesProviding finance and decision support to business stakeholdersDeveloping business cases for new products/revenue streamsEnsuring the delivery of high-quality financial and management information and reports, complying with reporting needs and accounting policiesAssisting the Head of Finance with ad hoc requestsServing as the primary contact for all annual audit queriesSome travel to the London office required.What we’re looking for from you:
- ACCA/CIMA qualification with relevant work experience
