Supervisory RelationshipsReports To: Associate Marketing Director, Open Access and Author MarketingBasic FunctionWorking closely with colleagues in Product Marketing, Product Management, Central Marketing, and others as needed, the Junior Marketing Specialist, Open Access and Author Marketing supports the development of our open access Journal portfolio by implementing agreed campaign plans aimed at achieving growth targets. The role requires a collaborative, innovative spirit and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Campaign Implementation: Collaborate with Central Marketing, Sales and Publishing teams to execute agreed campaign activities, including writing creative briefs and sourcing/creating all necessary content to ensure tactics are completed on time and within budget.
  • Author Awareness: Manage the creation and delivery of the regular author e-newsletter with the support from Central Marketing, working with colleagues in Publishing and the wider marketing team to source and create content for inclusion.
  • Content Sourcing, Creation and Sharing: Ensure exposure for all journals in the Open Access portfolio and all Author focused initiatives through inclusion in ‘always on’ initiatives such as Hot Topics and E-News email programs, and on relevant social media channels, including choosing relevant articles and images and creating copy to spec for each channel.
  • Cross-Team Liaison: Act as the primary contact for Publishing and Marketing colleagues in GGM Health China, a key growth market, coordinating campaign plan execution and managing content provision and translation for Chinese social media platforms.
  • Marketing Campaign Reporting: Support the creation of monthly campaign reports by collating data on request by members of the Open Access and Author Marketing team and prepare specific marketing activity and result summaries for individual journal titles on request from colleagues in Publishing.
  • Managing Campaign Spend: Support the Open Access and Author Marketing team in managing campaign spend, including processing invoices promptly and ensuring the department spend tracker is up to date and accurately reflects current payments.
  • Reporting: Support the creation of monthly campaign reports by collating data on request by members of the Open Access and Author Marketing team and prepare specific marketing activity and result summaries for individual journal titles on request from colleagues in Publishing.
  • Demand Generation and Customer Success: Provide Sales with the necessary tools and materials to support the acquisition and successful onboarding for Read & Publish deals and implement pre-agreed activities (depending on deal priority), to ensure client satisfaction and drive renewals.
  • Managing Requests: Process Ad Hoc requests from Sales or publishing teams, either fulfilling them or rerouting to the correct person for actioning
  • Team Administration: Support the team in keeping our records up-to-date including journal lists, renewal dates, new joiners and leavers, and deal pipelines.
  • Market Research: Perform market research based on specifications from the Associate Marketing Director of Open Access and Author Marketing or other OA team members.

Job QualificationsEducation: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.Experience:– Proficiency in creating campaign and design briefs.– Excellent time management and prioritization skills.– Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.– Strong copywriting abilities.– Competence in Excel and PowerPoint.– Rigorous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.– Fluency in the Chinese language is essential.Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:– Knowledge of journal publishing industry preferred but not essential.– Previous digital marketing is preferred but not essential.Travel requirements5% – 10% travelThe job can be held either hybrid or remote from the UK.
