We’re looking for our next Junior Real Estate Accountant. Could It Be You?The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Finance and Accounting department with real estate and corporate accounting as well as managing and reporting on financial data.Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Junior Real Estate Accountant operates in a cross functional role capacity supporting other departments related to managing tasks that transition from deal transactions through to agent commission payouts. This position will provide support to team members along with other partnering departments.Need more details? Keep reading…In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting monthly reconciliations: bank accounts, credit cards, Expensify expense management
- Following Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable collection procedures
- General Real Estate Accounting
- Maintaining comprehensive and up to date filing systems related to all accounting functions
- Preparing and submitting accurate General Ledger entries into Lone Wolf
- Lone Wolf reporting
- Calculating agent commissions
- Completing month end closing procedures
- Assisting with year end T4A and T4 filing
- Auditing and adjusting entries where required
- Vendor management and preparing associated expenditures statements
- Preparing managerial accounting reports
- Communicating with government offices when needed
- Communicating effectively with managers and agents regarding deal inquiries
- Providing support to both the Deals and People & Culture departments as required
- Additional Ad hoc accounting or administrative tasks as required

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, business administration or completed a college program in accounting / bookkeeping or a related field
- Have 1-3 years of professional experience with a background in full cycle accounting and financial reporting
- Have 2+ years of recent experience working with real estate accounting procedures
- Possess expert knowledge of Lone Wolf and Quickbooks
- Are tech savvy and proficient in Excel and Word
