Fairstone is offering an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to multiple aspects of the bank’s treasury operation and to the Canadian asset-backed securitization market. This will provide an ambitious Finance student the chance to apply financial concepts within a very dynamic and collaborative team environment while gaining hands-on experience in numerous treasury functions. The candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day treasury and securitization activities, the preparation of dashboards/management reports, performing in-depth financial analysis and assisting the treasury team in process improvement initiatives. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Treasury Funding and Liquidity Management and is located downtown Toronto. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of our company’s financial strategy.Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain our securitization facilities in the SecureHub system
  • Produce dashboards and reports on our Bank’s Deposit portfolio and Securitization facilities supporting decision process.
  • Perform maintenance requests on deposits for our broker partners
  • Update or develop clear step-by-step process documentation and job aid
  • Assist the treasury team in calculating the bank’s overall Cost of Funds
  • Work with the entire treasury team to improve and automate existing processes
  • Support preparation of presentation and management reporting

The ideal candidate would:

  • Currently completing their Bachelor or Master degree in Finance/Accounting or related discipline.
  • be recognized for being a great team player with a positive attitude who shows passion for quality services and processes delivered on time,
  • have excellent organizational skills and would demonstrate initiative, accountability and a strong attention to details,
  • adapt with ease and have strong computer skills (macros, Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with systems such as PowerBI, SecureHub, SAS, Workday or programming experience considered an asset.
  • A previous experience in treasury management, accounting, banking industry or customer service would be considered an asset.
  • Ideally, the candidate would be proficient in English and French both written and spoken.
