Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic doctors who are capable of working at registrar level. Elective surgical training is available in general surgery as well as benign upper GI surgery and colorectal surgery. This includes surgery for bowel cancer, IBD and other benign colorectal conditions including pelvic floor surgery, anti-reflux surgery, elective and ‘hot’ cholecystectomies, open and laparoscopic hernia repairs and abdominal wall reconstruction. We can also offer endoscopy training in colonoscopy (including advanced polypectomy techniques where appropriate), OGD, and for suitable candidates ERCP training may be available.Main duties of the jobWe are offering a two 12 month (extendable) Registrar level posts in General Surgery at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. We are able to support registrars with an interest in Benign Upper GI Surgery or Colorectal Surgery.This is a full-time post with a 1 in 8 resident on call days and nights. Weekly sessions are planned in 8 week blocks to endeavour to meet the training needs of all registrars, an example is shown below. Each week one registrar covers the post take ward round and afternoon CEPOD lists from Tuesday to Friday allowing for continuity of care for patients and training for the registrar.About usWith our central location and great transport links we are closer than you might think.
