UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECARO) will implement Business Model Learning Labs (BMLLs), as part of UNICEF’s Business Model Initiative to propose solutions to pursue results at scale through innovative models.

The BMLLs in ECAR focus on efficient and affordable programmatic and partnership engagement models aiming to enhance further the capacity to leverage resources towards results for children at scale. The BMLLs are built on three major pillars: i. ensuring the country’s office-level capacity to leverage resources; ii. pursuing operational efficiencies with a focus on Upper Middle Income Countries, and iii. establishing innovative technical assistance modalities in priority areas. The Business Model Learning Labs are grounded on the region’s experience in leveraging results and financing for children. They are building on regional contextual opportunities, including engagement in EU Member States and EU Accession Countries. Similarly, new business models will be implemented to quickly equip country offices with shared capacities and expertise on innovative financing and public financial management to position and attract financing and funding in new priority areas, such as climate or mental health. Finally, the BM Initiative will focus on programmatic relevance and operational efficiencies with a particular focus on UMIC countries, including a predictable transition planning from UMIC to HIC. The learning from the implementation of the business model is a key component of the initiative. As such, UNICEF ECARO requires the assistance of a knowledge management (KM) consultant to contribute to the implementation of a comprehensive approach to capturing, sharing, and utilizing knowledge emerging from the BMLLs within the organization, ensuring that valuable insights and best practices are systematically documented and accessible.
