IBTCI specializes in monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) and institutional support across many areas and sectors including, but not limited to, conflict and crisis, democracy and governance, agriculture, economic growth, food security, education, environment, and global health.Job Title: Knowledge Management ManagerDepartment/Location: MERL/Home OfficeReports To: Project DirectorType: Regular Full-TimeClassification: ExemptClearance Required: N/AOverview:IBTCI is seeking a Knowledge Management Manager for a five-year activity entitled Optimizing Food Assistance Programs, Processes and Products for Nutrition (O3P). O3P will re-emphasize programming aspects of food assistance-driven nutrition programs while continuing to focus on process improvements and product optimization by providing support under three pillars: Pillar I: Expert Technical Leadership and Coordination, Pillar II: Knowledge Sharing and Platform Management, and Pillar III: Evidence Generation to Fill Key Gaps in Knowledge.The KM Manager will lead activities to be developed under Pillar II, specifically supporting the structure of content and enable pro-active use of the legacy KM platforms , an online repository that houses carefully curated articles of interest for this community, and , a BHA food assistance cost-effectiveness tool for specialized nutritious foods. S/He will promote sharing and enable content uptake and organizational learning strategy development utilizing the O3P project operational food processes, stakeholders, and systems.This position is contingent upon award.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and set the direction of the Knowledge Management Framework
- Understand and recognize key challenges/roadblocks to Knowledge Management cultural change and develop effective programs to drive adoption and improve knowledge Management value.
- Promote and motivate a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaborative workflow among project stakeholders and experts
- Develop a plan/strategy including knowledge management purpose, systems, processes, and expectations
- Ensure the right knowledge is accessible to the right users, and monitor how information is promptly applied to improving nutrition products and activities
- Lead the documentation and capture of new knowledge using the existing updated knowledge management system
- Monitor progress and learning processes by keeping track of project objectives, output and outcomes and other metrics
- Provide relevant coaching, training and support to the project stakeholders and experts to foster a knowledge management culture
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- 6+ years of current proven experience in implementing KM strategies on nutrition and other development products.
- Experience in building KM programs in the nutrition programs/projects with stakeholders and experts within a large, global network.
- Experience communicating with and influencing experts as well as framing discussions to gain valuable feedback and experience.
- Proven experience in leading group experts to deliver effective solutions and inputs based on research findings.
- Leading the drafting review implementation of a knowledge management framework.
- Oral and written fluency in English required, fluency in another language preferred.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in health communications, health information systems, nutrition; advanced degree preferred; MPH desirable.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science related to KM systems.
- Expertise in working with a variety of stakeholders, including host country government personnel, NGO partners, international donor agencies and other stakeholders.
- Prior experience working with a USAID is desirable.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Travel: Travel to the countries that receive food aid, emergency assistance, Feed the Future countries, among others, might be necessary.Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Pay Transparency Statement: We are dedicated to ensuring a thoughtful, compliant, and equitable approach to employment compensation. Our commitment includes conducting a comprehensive salary analysis that considers individual skill sets, qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys.
