A specialist Autism unit in a primary school are looking for SEND Teacher (Autism) to join their school on a full-time basis in September to teach in their Autism Resource base.The RoleIn this role you will be a full-time teacher within a small class of children with Autism in KS1. Pupils are all on the Autistic spectrum at various levels and you will have a team of experienced support staff in the class to support the pupils across various activities. Classes will be following an informal curriculum and strategies will be in place for ASC learners. The school are interested in appointing a qualified teacher with previous experience in a special needs school or a mainstream primary teacher who has a good understanding of Autism.The SchoolThis specialist Resource Base for Autism is based in a OFSTED outstanding mainstream primary school within a federation of schools in Southwark. The Resource Base for Autism is based newly renovated site and has 56 places children with autism in Reception, Key Stage One and Two pupils who are working at academic levels which are below national expectations for their age. There is an established leadership teamTo apply for this role you must

  • have QTS
  • have previous experience working with children with Autism
