We are looking for an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney with at least 10 years of experience to work together with the Flix North America Legal team. This role will be responsible for directly managing labor and employment related legal matters while providing strategic counsel to the People (Human Resources) department and other internal business partners. This position requires close collaboration and partnership with internal stakeholders on the People team, the business units, and other attorneys in the legal department, with a significant focus on enabling and supporting the People function.Your Tasks – Paint the world green

  • Advise HR professionals and business managers regarding day-to-day employment-related matters under federal, state, and local laws (e.g., compliance with Title VII, ADAAA, FLSA, FMLA and state/local sick leave laws, FCRA, etc.)
  • Advise HR professionals on emerging legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment and labor obligations.
  • Review and revise internal policies and procedures to ensure multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and deliver proactive training to business leaders on a wide variety of employment law matters.
  • Provide legal representation and/or oversee outside counsel regarding agency administrative charges, audits, and investigations (e.g., EEOC, DOL, OSHA and state/local agencies).
  • Respond to attorney letters, complaints and claims involving employment and labor related concerns.
  • Manage employment related litigation to include outside counsel and budget.
  • Draft and negotiate employment-related documents including separation agreements and restrictive covenants.
  • Support HR professionals on compensation, benefits, ERISA and immigration matters.
  • Advise Company on wage and hour compliance in multi-jurisdictional environment.

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited university
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a dedicated employment law practice, either in-house and/or with a national law firm. Subject-matter expertise in multi-jurisdictional employment issues and disputes is strongly preferred. Litigation experience also preferred.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state Experience providing responsive, practical, creative employment law advice to businesses.
  • Ability to think strategically and evaluate potential risks to the Company, including economic, legal, and reputational.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and assume significant responsibility in keeping with the level of experience in employment law.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities while working with various stakeholders. Position may require travel.
