Our Information and Library Services Directorate delivers award winning IT services and support, library, academic and digital skills and learning enhancement to staff and students across the university. Lead Developer is an exciting role within our Digital Services team, which manages our website and other key digital proprieties, as well as provide assistance to other departments with digital needs.

We are looking for somebody who is highly motivated with proven programming and problem-solving skills and a good understanding of front-end development using HTML/CSS and JavaScript. You will also be familiar with working with structured data in formats such as JSON and SQL. The ideal candidate will be familiar with programming within enterprise CMS systems (In particular Squiz Matrix) and web development languages such as PHP. They should also be interested in making digital properties fully accessible. You will be contributing to the maintenance, support and enhancement of the university website and search server, as well as providing assistance with JavaScript and web development to other departments. You will also be involved in our annual accessibility audit.

The role requires somebody who is well organised, self-motivated, able to prioritise work under pressure and capable of creative thinking to identify and solve problems.

The post will be based at the outstanding World Heritage Site of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. This is permanent position, and the role attracts London Weighting and salary related local government pension.
