Join us as we build a knowledgeable and collaborative team that courageously changes how transit projects will be delivered.Under guidance and direction of the Senior Manager, Project Controls, this role will support the Program Controls team in making sound decisions at the program level based on project controls facts and data. Providing day-to-day expertise and best practice to a team of controls professionals in the area of quality, to ensure quality delivery of the projects and providing timely advice as it relates to trends in project performance from a controls perspective and supporting recovery of projects.What will I be doing?
- Ensure project controls processes are implemented on the project in accordance with CPG processes and standards by providing guidance/advice or training to PDTs or directly implementing and perform the work; participates in the lessons learned and process improvement work for CPG as it relates to processes.
- Provide expertise to project controls-related activities for assigned projects in support of the planning and execution of day-to-day monitoring of project performance.
- Accountable to (Integrated) Project Delivery Team for timely data and information regarding the status of all aspects of the project’s quality assurance and quality control and providing recommendations for resolving any non-compliance and/or issues
- Responsible for the application of CPG Quality Management System including project specific plans, processes and procedures and guides as extensions to and consistent with the CPG Quality Management System including the continual improvement cycle drawing on previous experience and industry practice
- Responsible for the assurance, management and review of 2nd Party contracted quality submissions, e.g. ITPs
- Responsible for the review and approval of Quality control site reports and test results, ensuring all documentation meets project quality assurance plan requirements and industry standards.
- Responsible for ensuring all quality control inspections, testing and site visits are conducted as per Quality assurance plan requirements.
- Responsible for the identification, resolution or escalation of quality issues
- Supports the development and application of audit on the (Integrated) Project Delivery Team and 2nd Parties (direct contracted parties) with respect to compliance with CPG Quality Management System and contracted obligations alongside (Integrated) Project Delivery Team and Manager, CPG Quality Audit
- Supports the implementation of continual improvement initiatives
- Supports working groups and committees with specialized functional knowledge and offers expert recommendations concerning quality assurance
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field
- Demonstrated experience with increasing responsibility in the Management of Project Controls on large projects, Transportation project experience and specifically transit experience is a plus, Experience is required across all project delivery methods, including Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, and Public Private Partnerships/ AFP delivery
- Exceptionally skilled in project controls theory, principles and practice
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent problem solving and influencing skills to: establish effective working relationships; negotiate and deal with a variety of contacts both internal and external to the organization; gain cooperation from individuals not under direct authority and comfort working with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate / interface effectively with senior management and external stakeholders
- Ability to engage and influence a wide variety of portfolio, program and project resources including but not limited to Engineers, Project Controls Professionals, Project Managers and External Stakeholders
- Excellent oral and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively in a large, integrated, matrix team environment at all levels of an organization
