If you’re excited about tackling complex challenges, growing the next generation of engineers, and working in an environment where your ideas matter, let’s talk.What will you do?Manage and maintain the development, test, and production environments from an Infrastructure and Application perspective.Analyze and troubleshoot incidents and technical issues by reviewing logs and debugging in non-production.Deploy updates and promote software packages.Coordinate system upgrades, maintenance, and release activities across environments.Collaborate with the delivery and production support teams to ensure consistency between non-production and production environments.Manage data feeds and ensure batch jobs run within expected timings, fine-tuning scheduling as needed.Produce, update, and review Run Books and Implementation Plans.Provide expertise around InfoSec/IT Security best practices and change management policies.Work to address security vulnerabilities and maintain proper server hygiene.Mentor and support emerging talent in the team, fostering a culture of curiosity and excellence.Design and implement high-performance solutions that meet the highest standards of scalability, reliability, and security.Champion modern development practices like CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, and test-driven development.Design and develop robust solutions, from architectural decisions to hands-on coding.Collaborate with product teams to build customer-centric solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible in banking.Continuously explore new technologies and strategies to keep RBC at the forefront of innovation.Monitor real-time and batch related process execution to ensure processes are completed within established timelinesProactively monitor system performance and anticipate operational improvements to ensure smooth and consistent business outcomesProvide initial triage, investigation and resolution of incidents. This may include deploying automated code to production, automated recovery scripts and runbook execution.Ensure all incidents are properly reported, addressed, updated and closed in accordance with predetermined Service Levels, Incident and Problem Management processesManage communications with third party support vendors including working with their Service Desks, coordinating technician conference calls and creating, updating and monitoring incident and request records in their IT Service Management toolsExcellent communication including the ability to distill technical details into human terms.What do you need to succeed?
Must-have5+ years practical experience with Operations and Monitoring practices5+ IT System operations experience.3+ years working knowledge of PagerDuty, Dynatrace, or comparable Operational Monitoring toolsets3+ Experience with SQL environments and SQL Query (Oracle, MS SQL, etc.).ITIL FrameworkWorking knowledge of both real-time and batch transaction process monitoring and issue responseExperience working in a 24×7 environment with a hybrid support model.Experience with the incident and problem management lifecycles.Familiar with operational monitoring technologies and trendsFamiliar with Knowledge Centered Service principlesBachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or equivalent training and experienceWilling to take a business focused, holistic approach to delivering operations.A self-starter with the creativity to solve problems independently.Ability to build effective relationships with a range of team members, stakeholders, partners, vendors, and business users.Displays a sense of ownership and exhibits flexibility, resilience, and resourcefulness.Nice-to-haveRSA Archer ExperienceWorking experience with ServiceNow or comparable IT Service Management toolsetsSoftware development experience.Familiarity with large scale logging solutions in a development or operations perspective.Tableau ExperienceRBC is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements when and where available.
