The team splits into three main areas, Knowledge Management and Library, Learning and Development and Graduate & Solicitor Apprenticeships.

The Learning and Development team is a small but dynamic sub-team which sits within KL&D and aims to deliver the highest calibre learning and development initiatives to support our people in achieving their respective career development objectives. We deliver a comprehensive Learn.Know.Grow syllabus which aligns with the SRA’s continuing competence requirements and our firmwide career development frameworks. We also deliver bespoke team and 1-1 training initiatives, development to support specific role requirements and compliance training demands.

The L&D team comprises:

  • Head of L&D
  • L&D Manager
  • LMS Adviser
  • L&D Assistant

Scope

To provide comprehensive, pro-active administrative and organisational support to the Learning and Development team, assisting them with day-to-day tasks relating to our annual Learn.Know.Grow syllabus and the administration of our Learning Management System (also Learn.Know.Grow). In addition, there is scope to learn to design on-line learning programmes for both our internal and external client population. This role requires a great deal of organisation along with excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with internal stakeholders and external training providers.
Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for learning events, whether in person, virtual or hybrid including making room, equipment and catering bookings;
  • Effectively communicate upcoming training events, resources and other L&D opportunities to the firm;
  • Collate feedback on L&D events to help with adjustments or improvements;
  • Assist with updates to our internal web pages;
  • Respond to general email queries from members of the firm and external trainers;
  • Upload all L&D invoices to the payments system (Chrome River) for authorisation and payment and process expenses as required;
  • Assist with team diary management;
  • Take and compile minutes during meetings/update our OneNote records;
  • Maintain the L&D spreadsheets recording L&D events, cost, study support arrangements etc;
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual L&D budget;
  • Assist with the administration of the firm’s LMS, ensuring accurate data entry and content organisation; creation or maintenance of reporting on attendance, engagement and other uses of the platform;
  • Assist with the development of a new LMS to enable us to deliver L&D to our clients;
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of training materials, editing and formatting content to ensure consistency and effectiveness;
  • Assist with the design and content of our internally delivered online L&D content (we use Articulate 360);
  • Other administrative tasks as required during the annual cycle;
  • Support the L&D team and the wider KL&D team as needed;
  • Work with the Graduate and Solicitor Apprentice Administrator, as required, on the overall administration of KL&D team business.

Skills and Experience

  • Confident user of IT systems including Microsoft Office;
  • Some previous experience of working in an office environment would be desirable but not essential;
  • Training will be given on all required IT systems and technology.

  • Interest in Learning and development in the legal industry;
  • Interest in the use of technology to deliver learning solutions;
  • Willingness to learn;
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing and a confident approach;
  • Proactive and prepared to use initiative;
  • Ability to work well under pressure, remain calm;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work;
  • Team player with an enthusiastic manner.

Education and Qualifications

Qualified to GCSE standard, grade C/ level 4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics essential

The hours of work for this opportunity are 09:30am-5:30pm but it is essential to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours when necessary and in response to client demand.
