Job description
The pool of Event Assistants will provide a vital role in supporting the programme coordinators to set up and deliver exciting learning events for a range of audiences. This will include; preparing learning materials, setting up event spaces, meeting and greeting participants, hands-on workshop support for practical activities, working with volunteers, artists and facilitators, collating evaluation materials and office administration.
This is an ideal starting role for someone wishing to develop skills across a range of audiences in a heritage learning context.

With experience of community events and or informal education, learning and social studies, the successful candidate will be a team player who is able to interact and support diverse and hard to reach audiences effectively. Whilst keeping a practical event focused mind-set, and using initiative, the Events Assistant will support the programme coordinators of the Visitor Learning Team.
This position is offered on a zero hours contract. The salary will be of £23,300 per annum pro rata, depending on hours worked. Shifts will be a minimum of 4 hours and will be agreed a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. Normal working hours may vary to accommodate the requirements of the post. Ability to work evenings and weekends is required. This position will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
