Learning Support Assistant – ADHD Focus – RedbridgeA school in Redbridge is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with a focus on supporting students with ADHD. With a dedicated SEN team, the school provides personalised support to ensure each child has the tools and encouragement needed to succeed academically and socially.Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ADHD, helping them manage attention and focus in the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in adapting lessons and materials to meet the individual needs of students with ADHD.
  • Help students develop strategies to manage their behaviour, stay on task, and engage in learning activities.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, parents, and the SEN team.
  • Support positive behaviour and help students build social skills and self-confidence.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with ADHD or similar attention-related challenges in a school or care setting.
  • Strong understanding of ADHD and strategies to support students with attention and behaviour management.
  • A patient, supportive, and adaptable approach to working with students who require additional assistance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN support or teaching assistance are desirable.
  • A DBS check is required.
