The School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering (CCE) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.The successful applicant will teach Chemical Engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate level, undertake a programme of independent, high-level research which enhances and augments the research already undertaken within the School, and contribute to the School’s administration/outreach activity. At Senior Lecturer level, there is an additional requirement to provide leadership in teaching and research within Chemical Engineering, and to contribute to management in the School.About the person:The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:
- An honours degree in Chemical Engineering.
- We acknowledge that some degree programmes in related fields may have different titles, but we encourage candidates with equivalent qualifications and expertise in chemical engineering to apply.
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related subject.
- Postdoctoral or industrial experience appropriate to the position of a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer or industrialexperience appropriate to the position of a Senior Lecturer. • A strong desire to develop an independent research programme.
- A strong and high-quality publication record that is commensurate with stage of career for Lecturer or SeniorLecturer as applicable.
For Senior Lecturer you must demonstrate:
- A proven ability to plan and deliver a programme of research.
- Recognised excellence and prestige in research subject specialism.
- Evidence of successful PhD supervision to completion as primary supervisor.
- A proven ability to secure research funding as PI.
- Evidence of leadership in the delivery and management of teaching.
- You have completed PGCHET (or equivalent) and/or membership of an appropriate professional and/orteaching body eg HEA.
