Position – Legal Assistant (Medical Law)

Position Type: Fixed Term Contract (6 Months)

Our team is seeking a legal assistant to support a number of fee earners. In this role you will provide legal administrative support to a busy team while gaining experience within a large corporate law firm. This role would suit a legal graduate with at least six months of legal support experience.

Responsibilities include:

Working as part of the team providing legal administrative support and management of busy workflow, including team projects;

Assisting with high volume of weekly court case preparation and court follow up;

Preparing documents from precedents and processing completed documents as instructed by fee-earners;

Ensuring legal diaries, trackers and case management systems are accurate and consistently maintained;

Responding flexibly and appropriately to team requirements with an understanding of prioritisation and urgency;

Carrying out legal research; and

Communicating queries/issues promptly to Team Coordinator/Admin Lead.

Candidate requirements:

An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in law or another relevant area;

Experience supporting a large team in a busy environment;

Experience in drafting legal documents with ability to understand and interpret legal processes;

IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, both independently and as part of a team;

Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail; and

Confident with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
