This is a permanent role, and you will work an average of 37 hours per week which will include some evenings and weekends, over a two-week rota (see attached rota)Lancashire Libraries is a vital service that provide spaces where people can feel safe and secure, where generations of all ages can meet freely in a public place and where learning can be encouraged.We aim to provide access for everyone to quality resources, knowledgeable and customer-focused staff, and a welcoming library space.Your new role…We are looking for a strong leader, who is customer focussed and digitally savvy with the skills to manage a team of staff and volunteers. Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the confidence to be able to work with a range of partners and volunteers.You will lead a team in offering a high-quality library and information service and you will manage and supervise the planning and delivery of a diverse range of events and activities, monitoring performance as you go. You will support and encourage customers to access online information and resources, for example accessing free eBooks and newspaper apps or helping someone find reliable information, such as applying for a passport.Sometimes, you may be required to work at other locations and the role may involve some lone working.What we can offer you…Benefits: You will have access to a local government pension, 26 days annual leave, increasing to 32 days after five years (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays.
