Your Opportunity:The UAH Medicine Relief Team at the University of Alberta Hospital provides relief (float) staff to 13 Medicine units providing care for General Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pulmonary, Nephrology, GI and Hematology patients. The Medicine program is a dynamic and fast paced adult acute care program dedicated to best practice in providing patient and family centered care. Care is delivered by an interdisciplinary collaborative care team in accordance with the AHS Values, hospital policies and nursing care standards. Specific Accountabilities: As a member of the collaborative, interdisciplinary team, the LPN is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care and practices to full scope as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). The relief (float) LPN will go to all medicine units as required. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Must the able to work to full scope of practice (physically, mentally and emotionally) on these very busy fast paced Medicine Units. Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 50 lbs. Recent acute care Medicine experience required.
