As a Lifting Ops Delivery Manager within our Infrastructure Development section, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll be key to the business.Day to day, working within Lifting Operations and to lead and manage a team of Delivery Co-ordinators to deliver Lifting Operations tasks and work packages identifying and ensuring adequate resource per demand.Managing in collaboration with the Lifting Operations Manager the safety, quality, delivery, cost and people and all resources (including lifting accessories) required to maintain operational output. Oversee and govern Safe Management of all lifting operations (in accordance with LOLER), through the Operational Management team which by design, ensure that lifts are suitably planned, supervised and executed in a safe manner.

  • To lead, develop and direct a team, including Delivery Co-ordinators and Industrial workers to achieve their part of the project and all operations business performance metrics (Safety, cost, schedule, quality)
  • Work with other departments in both Infrastructure and Fleet Operations. Assist Delivery Coordinators and Appointed Persons to define and detail the work required to deliver each activity, supporting the content of each Lift Plan in conjunction with a Manageable Task / WO and scheduling activities to identify and remove conflicts.
  • Work with Fleet Programmes and Delivery Ashore Teams to develop and manage demand profiles for internal resources and external subcontractors to satisfy project requirement and any changes within the project.
  • Understand and underpin the technical aspects to each lift plan to ensure quality standards are achieved
  • Demonstrate effective progress reporting and communications for all levels of the project, ensuring both Infrastructure and Fleet directorates receive weekly and monthly updates.

Essential experience of the Lifting Operations Delivery Manager:

  • Knowledge of Lifting Operations principles and regulatory requirements (LOLER)
  • Fully conversant with the duties and responsibilities of slinger/signaller, crane operator, Lift Supervisor and Appointed Person.
  • Competent and experienced in Lifting Operations slinging and fleeting.

37 hour working week.5 days onsite at HMNB ClydeQualifications for the Lifting Operations Delivery Manager:

  • HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent H&S subject
  • Pristine Manual Handling
  • ILM Level 5 or equivalent – desirable
  • Kelvin TopSet Investigation Course – desirable
  • Occasional Climber/Working at Height – desirable
