A consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist is required for the City & Hackney Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. City And Hackney Specialist CAMHS is a long established service for the assessment and treatment of young people up to the age of 18 years, their families and carers living in the borough and has an excellent reputation. The vacancy in this established post has arisen following the previous post holder moving to another role.The post-holder would be expected to provide Consultant input and clinical leadership to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway. The role of the Consultant is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment, contribute a psychiatric perspective, provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, offer consultation to other professionals and agencies and facilitate the development of the team and wider serviceYou will join 4 (3.2 WTE) other Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists based in C&H CAMHS. In addition to the above clinical duties, clinical supervision, teaching, training and research, the service takes part in the Trust’s active and extensive Healthcare Governance and Quality Improvement agenda.Applications will be welcomed from candidates included in or eligible for the Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining the CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.Main duties of the jobThe role of the consultant is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment where appropriate, contribute a psychiatric perspective, provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, offer consultation to other professionals and agencies and facilitate the development of the team and wider service.The consultant will be expected to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of the service and will share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management. Subject to the provisions of terms and conditions of service, the post holder will be expected to observe the agreed policies of the East London Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and the procedures drawn up in consultation with the profession on clinical matters.
