An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist with special interest lung has arisen within the South West Wales Cancer Centre in Swansea. The successful applicant will join a team of surgical, clinical and medical oncologists working across South West Wales. There are excellent opportunities for clinical research and strong links with Swansea University.Main duties of the jobThis post is for a Clinical Oncologist with a sub specialist interest in lung cancer. This is a 10 session post and working hours are flexible to accommodate candidates who may have caring duties. There are opportunities to develop off site working as needed to allow remote chemotherapy prescribing.The candidate is encouraged to sit any relevant postgraduate examinations and to undertake CESR with support from the department.   • Evidence of an ability to develop effective working relationships, on an individual and multi-disciplinary basis with all levels of staff (Working Together)
  • Evidence of working with management and clinical colleagues to improve a service (Always Improving)
  • Evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff
  • Prior experience in treating lung cancer and has the technical experience needed for lung radiotherapy.
  • Evidence of initiating, progressing and completing audit

Desirable

  • Experience of research in oncology
  • Experience of setting up clinical trials
