At KMPT, we place a strong emphasis on medical leadership. We actively encourage, acknowledge and highly value the leadership capabilities of all our medical staff. We offer doctors at all grades the chance to engage in leadership development and seek growth opportunities tailored to their areas of interest.

This commitment to medical leadership has been reflected in the exceptional results of last year’s staff survey, where our responses exceeded the national average in multiple categories. Most notably, close to 70% of our doctors shared that they feel valued and recognised in the roles, which has resulted in increased participation and engagement in shaping our service development and delivery decisions.

Our mission is to provide ‘brilliant care through brilliant people.’

Join our enthusiastic workforce of over 3,700 staff from 66 nationalities, who are passionate about delivering exceptional care to an increasingly diverse range of communities across rural and urban areas.

We have a strong research ethos with 22 portfolio studies, covering a range of mental health areas, which have the potential to transform healthcare.

In February 2022, we retained our good overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, with an outstanding rating for effectiveness and caring.

We are known for our partnership working, being an integral part of the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System, and for our commitment to involving service users and their families in our decision-making processes. We are also linked with Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), which opened in 2020, and several universities within London and the South East.

We value diversity and inclusivity, with supportive networks for various groups, including faith, disability, LGBTQ+, and black, Asian, and minority ethnics.
