If you’re a leader at heart, are experienced in Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) or have a keen interest in learning, we want to hear from you!We are looking for an LVL Superintendent to join our Laminated Veneer Lumber Division, located in Kamloops, British Columbia. Tolko’s newest facility is in construction and will soon be moving through the start up, and ongoing operation phases. This is an exciting opportunity to build a facility from the ground up, including the infrastructure, teams, processes and programs supporting the operation.Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven team leader.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing change.
  • Strong planning, goal setting and project management skills.
  • A focus on operational excellence and product quality.
  • Technical experience manufacturing engineered wood products including experience with Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL), finger jointing, CLT, Glulam is a bonus.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and manage the operational budget including supporting capital planning and execution.
  • Be accountable for overall mill safety performance, including ensuring employees are trained, supported and coached in operating safety and in compliance with documented procedures, policies and regulations.
  • Develop employees through effective coaching, mentoring and performance management and feedback.
