Our client, a leading manufacturing company, who established their first plant in Northern Ireland in 1998 and is now a market leader in the UK and also the most sustainable business of its kind in the world is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Fitter to join their team at their site in Co Fermanagh.

The Role:

As the Maintenance Fitter your duties will include

  • Providing preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment
  • Monitoring mechanical failures and identify possible solutions.
  • Liaising with consultants and technical services where required
  • Carrying out repairs on all jobs and discuss cause and possible improvements with engineer team and operating supervisor.
  • Test, inspect, maintain, and make mechanical repairs on specialized equipment such as hydraulic systems and be familiar with gear boxes etc.
  • Read mechanical drawings and fault find.
  • Responsible for completion of all worked assigned to you.
  • Ensuring you complete relevant training, i.e., Induction, Manual Handling Training, Job Specific Training, Safe Working Practices etc.
  • Responsible for the housekeeping of your area
  • To ensure all maintenance work is carried out to relevant regulations.
  • To ensure that all machinery is working in accordance with Health & Safety operational procedures.

Hours of work:

  • Mon – Thurs 8am – 5pm, Fri 8am – 3.15pm
  • 39.5hrs per week

Requirements:

The ideal Maintenance Fitter will have

  • Recognised time served apprenticeship, e.g., City and Guilds or BTEC in engineering.
  • Recognised welding qualifications preferably City and Guilds 3268 level 3.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Written and verbal communication skills in order to liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • FLT and MEWP licenses.
  • Confined Space and Working at Height training.
