Job description
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, who established their first plant in Northern Ireland in 1998 and is now a market leader in the UK and also the most sustainable business of its kind in the world is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Fitter to join their team at their site in Co Fermanagh.
The Role:
As the Maintenance Fitter your duties will include
- Providing preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment
- Monitoring mechanical failures and identify possible solutions.
- Liaising with consultants and technical services where required
- Carrying out repairs on all jobs and discuss cause and possible improvements with engineer team and operating supervisor.
- Test, inspect, maintain, and make mechanical repairs on specialized equipment such as hydraulic systems and be familiar with gear boxes etc.
- Read mechanical drawings and fault find.
- Responsible for completion of all worked assigned to you.
- Ensuring you complete relevant training, i.e., Induction, Manual Handling Training, Job Specific Training, Safe Working Practices etc.
- Responsible for the housekeeping of your area
- To ensure all maintenance work is carried out to relevant regulations.
- To ensure that all machinery is working in accordance with Health & Safety operational procedures.
Hours of work:
- Mon – Thurs 8am – 5pm, Fri 8am – 3.15pm
- 39.5hrs per week
Requirements:
The ideal Maintenance Fitter will have
- Recognised time served apprenticeship, e.g., City and Guilds or BTEC in engineering.
- Recognised welding qualifications preferably City and Guilds 3268 level 3.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Written and verbal communication skills in order to liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- FLT and MEWP licenses.
- Confined Space and Working at Height training.
