About the role:
Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a major waste management and energy company to recruit for a Maintenance Manager to join their brand new 49MW energy from Waste Power Station in Essex which is still in construction phase.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:

• Leading, training, and developing a team of multi-skilled (mechanical, electrical and C&I) engineers and technicians responsible for maintaining all plant equipment to the highest of standards to ensure maximum availability.
• Ensuring all maintenance works is complying with the company’s HSE regulations as well as the environmental legislation.
• Working closely with the EPC team during the commissioning phase and working on training plans for the maintenance team.
• Working with the Plant Manager and Operations Manager with the recruitment of the O&M Teams.
• Liaising with the Operations Manager and site Engineers for the purpose of plant improvement / modification / upgrade work
• Be actively involved in the implementation and continuous development of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Planning and managing plant outages.
• Managing the maintenance department’s budget.
• Deputise for the Plant Manager when required

Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Ideally a HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
• A formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH

Experience, skills and knowledge:
The Maintenance Manager role would suit someone who has:

• Extensive engineering/maintenance experience in heavy process engineering environments such as power generation (EfW, Biomass, CHP, CCGT, Coal), Petrochemicals, COMAH sites, Refineries, Paper Mills, etc.
• Experience in managing budgets and in the training and development of staff
• Knowledge of environmental permits, H&S issues and safe working environments
• Excellent leadership skills
