Job description

The Plant Operations department at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to enhance our skilled team. Our state-of-the-art facility relies on a dedicated workforce that provides a variety of general, mechanical, and preventive maintenance as well as inspections and servicing of the hospital buildings and grounds.What you’ll do day to day:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues; perform maintenance, repairs, or parts replacements as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical rooms to ensure optimal operation of HVAC systems and medical support equipment.
  • Carry out general building maintenance and repair tasks across hospital facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform winter grounds maintenance, including snow removal and ice control using appropriate equipment.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture and equipment as required for maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least five years of experience in construction or maintenance manufacturing
  • Valid driver’s license and experience operating a plow truck
